This is a recurring theme among people who claim to "debunk the myth that gun ownership prevents tyranny." Their argument always pre-supposes an existing, powerful tyrant and then tries to shoot down the possibility that armed citizens can take him on. Perhaps this is true, but shouldn't we really be asking, "How does the government get to a point where it is willing to use those sorts of weapons against its own citizens?"
